光域 Ray of light

T.M Design Studio as Architects

This project is a new condominium residence, adjacent to the Anping Port National Historical Scenic Area, with excellent high-rise landscape conditions, multiple windows overlooking the 360-degree sea and river views, with abundant lighting. The multi-faceted floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light, reflecting the scenery outside and injecting new life into the space, creating a spacious and transparent space with a focus on comfort and brightness, giving the residents the illusion of being in the natural outdoor environment.

In the public area, a large wooden ceiling is used. The gentle wood is different from the roughness of the walls, which imitates fresh water mold coating, moderating the coldness of the grey space; the multiple windows introduce daylight that falls on every corner of the interior space; the glass partition refracts the light, allowing free passage in the wide interior space, weakening the deep tone of the living room, deepening the penetration of vision, and increasing the visual effect to extend the sense of space. Through the embellishment of decorative furnishings, a variety of color changes appear richer in layers, injecting vitality into the space, breaking the quietness of the space, so that people and things in the space can complement each other. The division of lines and material changes differentiate different functional areas for the chaotic space. The division of flooring material and the change of wall material seem to express the different humanistic spatial vocabulary of each area.

Through the combination of the bar and dining table, as a place to entertain friends and relatives, so that visitors can enjoy the food in a spacious space. The titanium-plated chandelier is an accent piece that uses a combination of materials to add a sense of depth to the space. Wood grain and marble are both products of nature, in harmony with each other, the two match without conflict, the perfect harmony between hard and soft, adding warmth in the hard and rough, and finally presented in a moderate and simple style.

In order to bring more light into the room, the living room, kitchen and study are connected to each other, with no physical partitions, making the space several times larger and allowing light to penetrate each area. The furniture and cabinets are presented as works of art, and the interior space is covered with an artistic atmosphere through the focal point lighting. The master bedroom, on the other hand, is interpreted in simple white, which is different from the understated and calm style of public spaces, and you can feel the transformation of the two spaces as soon as you enter the room. One-half of the walls around the master bedroom have floor-to-ceiling windows, so there are not too many cabinets to block them, bringing a lot of natural light into every corner of the room to create a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. The white walls eliminate unnecessary decorative elements, and the entire space is white, with the design striving for natural simplicity and not using overly complicated building materials.
