The new police building is robust and transparent at the same time. This is in line with the police's wish to create a building that simultaneously can be accessible and safe. We do not limit ourselves to the design of the facade with the large windows facing the street. We are also intro- ducing two larger spaces in the building, which are shielded on the one hand, but also open to the environment.
The public space near the entrance with reception desk is a place where citizens can get information. The landscape office at the back, the shared working environment for the police staff, has large windows facing the garden. We introduce colours and warm materials to avoid a sterile office environment; professional requirements such as bullet resistance and running time are of equal importance as transparency and athmosphere.
Along the rear we provide a green backyard that over- looks the landscape behind. By framing the backyard between the carport on the one hand and the newly planted trees on the border with the fire brigade site on the other, the lands- cape office enjoys a pleasant perspective on the landscape.
