Detail: Brick Masonry Walls of Amant Art Campus, Brooklyn
SO-IL has completed a 2,000 square meter (21,000 square foot) arts campus sited on three blocks in its hometown of Brooklyn, New York. The facility is a collection of simple volumes clad with raw materials in keeping with the neighborhood’s industrial aesthetic. Two of its buildings make use of exterior masonry walls with blocks set in atypical configurations, generating rich and innovative textures that call special attention to the otherwise commonplace brick construction.

UKIYO LISTENING BAR
UKIYO listening bar is an interior renovation project in the city center of Nicosia Cyprus, completed in 2021. One of the key challenges was to facilitate both the functions of a restaurant and a listening bar with a unified architectural identity, in a small existing space.

The house is designed as a single-storey without unnecessary barriers in the form of stairs, which was also helped by a large flat plot with access from the northeast. The house is divided into two main tracts with gable roofs of different pitches. One tract runs from the entrance to the south garden, the other is divided by a small intimate terrace.
