How do you design a personal space when the client is anonymous? How would the design directions and asthethic be directed to appeal to a larger pool of potential clients? How would the promoter be able to showcase their impeccable design delivery? And finally how good is Good Design for Good Business? This is a 4 Bedroom bungalow with drawing, kitchen, dining, garden and balconies. Client came to us with a desire to create a home with modest and timeless interior. They wanted their residence to be very simple, modern and maintenance-free. SahajSmrutiStudio One is welcomed by a refreshing garden entry that keeps the house light & air ventilated. Located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in a neighborhood near the city center, this house was built on the foundation of an existing one in order to suit the needs and taste of the clients. The house rebuilt project follows the slope of the land, which makes the access in the house to be on the ground floor (where the master bedroom, bathroom and dressing room are located), then descending to the semi-basement (living room, kitchen and bathroom), through which one can access the back garden. Two levels for a young family of four: the project has been an opportunity to experiment with new combinations of materials, colours and textures, creating different scenarios within the same apartment. The reuse and refurbishment of the large space of the attic allowed to experience an unconventional layout with the living area extended on two levels: on the lower level a cosy and spacious entrance area in continuity with dining area and kitchen; on the upper level a large living area characterised by sloped ceilings and a large terrace. High-quality Linoleum fronts and white Carrera marble countertop, this design was created to both radiate softness and calmness, while at the same time serve as a fully functional unit for people who like to cook. The interior is made of oak wood and includes drawer organisers to keep the utensils, dishes and cutlery organised. As a final touch, we integrated our lovely Hallo Wall light, highlighting its aesthetic and functional qualities. More

For an apartment in Hamburg, we were asked to design the kitchen and bathrooms to align with its elegant interior.Highlighted by a harmonic selection of materials, the DB Kitchen comprises beautiful slate stone units and a kitchen island with a precious Belvedere stone countertop as its centrepiece. All fronts are black Linoleum with a Valchromat core, providing a soft contrast to the severity of the stone. The interior of the kitchen units uses oak veneered surfaces and solid oak drawers to match the tone of the wooden floor.
