In this project the client request to Estudio MMX was to create a pleasant and isolated space to breakfast, relax and work; a space for leisure with more association with the idea of a garden than a terrace.
The schematic proposal incorporates a covered and shaded central zone that remains directly to the surrounding open areas while connecting and articulating them. This project poses the intervention as a structured garden rather than an added roof. The main difference consist in the perception of the vertical borders of the space as forming an active part of the garden configuration and lighting.
As opposed to a simple limit stablished to contain space, few elements: horizontal and vertical were deployed in the perimeter, to transform and otherwise inhospitable space, into a shaded, useful and relaxing place.
