With Brazilian roots but Italian wisdom, Saborella has been a reference since 1995 in the capital, serving high-quality artisanal ice creams. In 2014, the company approached the office to design its second store, now within a major shopping center in Brasília.
The project was initially inspired by the model of European street cafes, which line the streets, providing contemplation of daily life while enjoying a cup of coffee. Thus, Saborella Café adopts this premise through a linear layout along the shopping square.
The design seeks an elegant and timeless line, standing out for its narrow and functional structure, composed of two rows of tables converging on a central island where the sales point, coffee and beverage preparation, ice cream storage, and other items are concentrated. The kitchen, located underground, ensures a noise-free environment, preserving the tranquility of the space.
To create a more welcoming and inviting atmosphere, the ceiling was lowered through a metal structure with glass panel covering, maintaining the entry of natural light and the perception of the surrounding square. This covering, in turn, was anchored to the existing structure of the shopping center, ensuring lightness and modernity to the project.
The discreet and linear lighting, together with the café's brand subtly integrated into the concrete counter material, give the space a distinctive and memorable identity. The contemporary design of the project sought refined simplicity, harmoniously dialoguing with its surroundings and creating an inviting and pleasant atmosphere.
With few elements, but carefully chosen, Saborella Café achieves a striking and timeless design, inviting square visitors to a relaxing break, harmoniously integrating into the local dynamics.
