Lori Zillante, Ermis Adamantidis, Grace Coulter Sherlock and Oliver Braun join Archello Awards 2024 jury

Archello is excited to introduce four new jurors joining the panel for the Archello Awards 2024 program, which will recognize outstanding design and innovation across 75 architecture product and project categories this fall. Read on to learn more about Lori Zillante, Ermis Adamantidis, Grace Coulter Sherlock and Oliver Braun:

Lori Zillante is R&D Unit Manager at Mario Cucinella Architects (MCA) in Milan. Zillante earned a double degree in Architecture and Building Engineering at UNIVPM, after gaining experience abroad at UPV in Valencia and PolyU in Hong Kong, where she worked on her thesis project. In 2018, she joined SOS - School of Sustainability, where she worked on developing 3D printed earth
buildings taking part in the Tecla project, which was recently profiled by Archello.

Within MCA, the R&D unit adds value through an exploratory and interdisciplinary approach, oriented towards ensuring the environmental and socio-economic sustainability of the project. Lori deals with research related to the environmental and social impacts of construction within different contexts, with a focus on the life cycle of materials and construction technologies. She has experience in the management and development of innovative projects in vulnerable and emergency contexts, through the promotion of participatory processes and with a focus on earthen construction techniques. Since 2019, together with the R&D department, Lori supports MCA projects and international competitions at different scales, providing through research a holistic vision of sustainability and the environmental consultancy that is the core business of the company.

Ermis Adamantidis is principal and cofounder of Not a Number Architects, a design team that has merged architectural thinking with material experimentation in the production of several award-winning projects that vary in size and program as well as their cultural and environmental settings. Prizes include the Young European Architects Award at the Venice Biennale, the Greek Architecture Award, the Architecture Master Prize and the FRAME Award. Not a Number Architects' Monasty Hotel project was named the Archello Awards 2023 Hotel Interior of the Year.

Ermis holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a postgraduate Masters of Science in Adaptive Architecture and Computation from The Bartlett School of Architecture in London. Prior to founding his own office Ermis gained professional experience at Foster + Partners in London and Madrid where he was involved in a wide range of projects around the globe. In parallel to practicing architecture, Ermis’ interest in education led him back to the School of Architecture at the Aristotle University where he teaches on architectural design and technology.

Grace Coulter Sherlock is Regional Director and Principal for Western Canada at Lemay where she oversees all stages of the design process, providing the team with guidance, creative direction and support. An exceptional design strategist and communicator, she is often called upon to lead and inform the development of challenging typologies. Her diplomatic approach and relentless creative drive inspire the creation of sustainable, human-focused places. Grace has designed a wide range of award-winning architectural and interior design projects across
Canada. Grace’s practice of architecture is centered on the research and dialogue surrounding inclusive design models. She is a registered practitioner in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Lemay has received wide industry recognition, and it's Théâtre de Verdure project was named the Archello Awards 2023 Theatre Building of the Year.

Oliver Braun was born in 1976 in Biberach an der Riss, Germany. He began his architectural studies in 1997 at the University of Hannover and continued them from 1999 to 2002 at the University of Stuttgart. From 2002 to 2004, Braun worked at Foster + Partners in London. He then joined a+r Architekten, where he became a partner in 2010. The Kulturbahnhof Aalen by a+r Architekten was named the Archello Awards 2023 Cultural Building of the Year.

Through teaching assignments at the University of Stuttgart, Braun combined architectural practice and research with teaching: from 2005 to 2007, he served as a lecturer at the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design under Werner Sobek, and from 2007 to 2013, Braun worked as an adjunct lecturer at the Institute for Building Construction under Stefan Behling.

In 2017, Braun was appointed to the Association of German Architects (BDA). And in 2020, he was admitted to the specialist list for judges and design advisors of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects.
