The design for the redevelopment of Jahnplatz includes the renovation of the bus stop shelters and the construction of a bicycle parking facility in the current Jahnplatz Forum. In contrast to the existing large roofs, the new shelters will consist of groups of individual umbrella-like structures, the number of which will vary depending on the size of the bus stop areas to be covered. The roofs also vary in size and height, creating a relaxed and lively appearance for each individual bus stop area.

From below, the roof structures are covered with a translucent mesh fabric. To secure it, purlins are provided at a distance of approximately one meter across the triangular beams, on which the tensioning devices are mounted. On the upper side, double-web polycarbonate panels attached to the triangular beams form a water-bearing surface through which rainwater accumulating on the roofs is directed in a controlled manner into a downpipe running in the round column. At its lower end, the downpipe is led out of the round column and connected to a drainage system. Inside the cavity formed by polycarbonate panels and mesh netting, LED lights illuminate the roofs and the areas below.

The bicycle parking garage offers space for approximately bicycles. It is accessed from above via a new linear reinforced concrete ramp east of Pizza Hut, a spindle-shaped ramp also made of reinforced concrete at the site of the current sausage stand, and via the converted staircase in front of the building at Oberntorwall 25. All other staircases leading to the underpass will be removed. There is a connection to the subway at the northern end. Within the underground area, zones for various bicycle-related uses will be set up, such as parking, rental, repair, service, and charging stations for e-bikes. Private parking and bicycle rental will be enclosed by bar fences to protect the bicycles from theft.
