New construction of a spacious detached house with a view of the Passwang.

Blaser Architekten AG as Architects

On a 1,500 m2 plot in the Solothurn municipality of Himmelried, we built a spacious detached house on a Jura foothill with a view of the Passwang.

The building extends over a length of approx. 30 metres with a single storey along the road and two storeys facing the valley. On a split-level organisation, the house offers space for a family with four children and a dog as well as guests. The guest wing and a work area are located on the entrance level of the split level.

The bedrooms are located on the upper floor, while the large south-facing living/dining area with its outdoor area to the west, which is covered by the upper floor, is on the ground floor. The air space in the southern centre of the house connects the floors and creates an internal link between the street and hillside façade.

The surrounding meadows and pastures border directly on the building, which, with its façade clad in anodised aluminium sheets, refracts the light in a variety of ways depending on the incidence of light.
