base_ pavilion in Mexico City

Commissioned by base_, the pavilion serves as a versatile space intended for conversations, exhibitions, and discussions centred around art, design, culture, and social issues. Known for their approach and dedication to creativity, base_ centres its exploration of design and architecture, merging functionality with adaptability and artistic exploration.

Through this exploration, LANZA Arienzo Abascal was selected to craft a space that embodies the mission outlined by base_ while reflecting on their design philosophy and intention of their practice: to find and contribute to the beauty of the world.

The idea behind the pavilion's conceptualisation was to construct a space that would allow people a unique opportunity to consider new perspectives through conceptual forms and natural components. These attract attention and encourage engagement, be it on an architectural level or more broadly on topical themes and social or environmental issues.
