Inaugurated in 1973 and designed by the architect from Minas Gerais, Raul de Lagos Cirne, the Albertão Stadium stands out as an icon of brutalist architecture in Teresina. Over the years, the passage of time compromised the integrity of this emblematic structure, prompting the Government of the State of Piauí to envision its renovation and modernization. Through a public-private partnership, structured by Alvarez & Marsal in both technical (demand and engineering) and financial aspects, the project aims to renew the stadium and ensure its management and maintenance by the private partner.

BCMF Arquitetos, responsible for the reference revitalization project, saw in Albertão more than just a sports facility: an opportunity to reconnect history and functionality, offering the community a high-quality public space that goes beyond the limits of a stadium.

Every stage of the work sought to integrate tradition and innovation: the façade was restored with fidelity to its original forms, while the internal spaces were reconfigured with zoning and contemporary standards, elevating Albertão to the level of the world’s great arenas.

Our concept goes beyond football. The stadium is reborn as a multi-purpose complex, integrated with the so-called Albertão Park, where sports, culture, leisure, and commerce coexist in perfect harmony. Tree-lined esplanades invite the public to enjoy the space daily, while new commercial centers and social areas connect the arena to the urban fabric.

More than a renovation, we deliver a project that honors the past and envisions the future, revitalizing the stadium and its surroundings, promoting urban development, and returning to the population a renewed symbolic landmark, reclaiming its place as a cultural and architectural icon in the city of Teresina.
