Søren Robert Lund Arkitekter

The studio was established on the 5th of February 1991 after Søren Robert Lund had won 1st prize in the competition of the new Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen. Since the inauguration, the designs of the studio have taken starting point in the vision of creating a sculptural and artistic architectural expression. The design creates a sculptural exterior that also reflects in the inner spatiality, and thus is making an image where all parts of the architecture are woven together. The landscaping is an integrated part of the studios working process. An example is the Museum of Art and the Villa L, which are both designed with an extensive interaction between exterior and interior design as a vital part of the experience. General for all projects is the contrast and combinations of materials that underline the architecture, where especially the main construction serves as an expressive architectural element. All together the landscape, the composition, the materiality, and spatial variations are the tools that the studio uses to create a significant architectural image.
