Tabakalera is a centre for contemporary culture with the main aim of promoting contemporary cultural creation in different areas and in all phases (research, production, exhibition) as well as generating and sharing knowledge.
ULMA Architectural Solutions participated in the restoration of the surroundings of this cultural centre in the provincial capital of Gipuzkoa. The work was carried out in two phases.
In the first phase, we supplied low height drainage channels for large loads (SM250MF system with grating for load type D-400) and channels for use in pedestrian areas (M100 system with gratings for light loads).
In the second phase, where the area to be restored was the surroundings of the building, we supplied the MULTI V+ channel model with RapidLock locking system, combining ductile-iron gratings for D-400 and C-250 type heavy loads (in compliance with Regulations on Accessibility in Pedestrian Areas), and channels with lateral single-slot gratings for D-400 load type (according to EN-1433).
In total, approximately 500 linear metres of drainage channels were installed. ULMA solutions were chosen due to prior requirement by the authors of the project and advice from ULMA's technical team.
The construction company that carried out the restoration was UTE TABAKA, resulting from the merger between MOYUA and AMENABAR.
