The commercial store, Sorry mom is located in a condensed historic neighborhood in Larissa, Greece. The clients’ primary goal was to introduce a store that would serve three types of take away food: sweet, salty and refreshments. From the beginning of the design phase, each one of these three categories of products has been linked to a color that would later find a spatial presence in three monochromatic spaces, three “boxes”. Three façade openings give visual access to three monochromatic spaces that host each category of products.
The serving areas below them are covered with tiled surfaces and their unique curved parts reflecting each color on the façade. During operation hours, each opening becomes a colorfull lighting box that connects the inside with the outside. Costumers are served through these three serving areas, and their interaction with the interior is only visual. When the store is closed, colored garage doors cover the openings and express the presence of each monochromatic space behind them by completing images of "light" that shines on each facade opening.
Interior design is mostly defined by the strong presence of color and the balance between color pluralism and minimalistic archetypal forms. This continuous search of balance led to the creation of a playful, and colorful space.
