SEA CLIFF RESIDENCE

SEA CLIFF RESIDENCE

Mark Horton Architecture as Architects

RESIDENTIAL REDUX This recently completed project, a total remodel of an existing home in San Francisco's Sea Cliff neighborhood, transformed an oddly organized house into a sophisticated urbane home for a family. A limited palette of materials, along with a few very specific architectural details, has created a dramatically unique retreat overlooking the Golden Gate. At the request of the client, MH/A provided design services for everything from the structural glass staircase, to the light fixtures and furniture, to the custom entry window system with an integral seating area and cushion to sit on and remove your shoes upon entering the home. MH/A grew up around residential architecture, starting with small remodels and working up to larger custom home projects. Along the way, commercial and institutional commissions were introduced to the office. Today, the broad spectrum of work brings a sophisticated and professional approach to all our projects and a wide exposure to varied building technologies and materials. Working with individuals to define and realize their private home dreams remains a special interest at MH/A; we are excited we can bring our expanded base of knowledge to residential work, enriching home designs and exceeding clients' expectations in both the process and the final product.
