The residence had to be designed as attic apartment and in style it had to be relaxed but still valuable and unique.
Our first task as designers was to understand the nature of the client, the requirements of his daily life, his values and aesthetic views. Next, we had to translate all of these into real collage, that is, a real home, by means of interior design.
The interior design task included both the selection of surfaces such as floor and wall materials and the design of ceilings and the lighting. Furniture choices were an important part of the interior design and were our focus from the very beginning of the project till the end of the project.
To achieve a contemporary and in the same timeless look we decided to use a minimalistic materials’ scale as dark grey micro cement and dark wood of the floor combined with the white of the roof.
Fixed fixtures such as kitchens, cabinets and wardrobes were followed by an earthy broken colour scheme.
Loose furniture complemented the space with shapes and understated colours refreshed with pastel cobalt and denim blue in the textiles and upholsteries.
Lighting design is a strong part of our office’s expertise. It is based on our belief that without proper lighting the look of the space will suffer, the wall materials will not come out and the atmosphere will be poor and unfinished. Lighting also has a health-related component - it invigorates, creates positivity and cosiness. With the help of current technology, lighting can be controlled, and different moods can be created based on different situations. With these principles, we designed the lighting of the apartment by combining direct and indirect lighting.
The challenge in this project was to design a lighting that fits to the sloping ceiling.
By using recessed long profile luminaires combined with detachable directional spots, we successfully and elegantly managed the lighting and thus made it a significant part of the space.
Floor and wall interior light completed the set of the whole atmosphere.
Tranquility, quality and timeless style were the goal of the project and it was achieved with the cooperation of all parties involved in the project.
