This beautiful typical Cabanyal house was acquired while still in its original state, it had been abandoned for more than 20 years but its beauty fortunately remained intact over time. The owners wanted to open up the entire space, for the light to fill the entire floor and to have the maximum possible ventilation; at the same time they wanted to preserve that rustic and seafaring atmosphere and make the house speak of its history and its past.

The objective was to create an apartment for two people, so no closed space had to be created, we just had to take advantage of the characteristics of the house. The first thing that was done was to free the entire house of any partition, the cane roof and the accumulated belongings. The free space of the false ceiling left an impressive height to be used and the beautiful brick and wood ceiling finally came into view.
It was decided to clean the plaster walls and restore the natural aesthetics of the brick, treat and restore the wood, recover the old cupboard and the existing doors. On the façade wall, the wooden windows were renewed, identical to the original ones but with better features to protect from the outside.

It was decided to create a wooden loft, of solid pine color varnished, which houses the bedroom. In this way, the entire space has been connected, since the platform appears as if it were suspended right in the middle of the house.
Wood has special relevance in this reform as it is the main element together with brick. To these two materials we add lime, a perfect plaster for this type of house due to its breathable and antibacterial qualities, and we reuse some of the hydraulic tiles present in the house for the kitchen floor.

The kitchen is minimalist and simple, with anthracite modules and black granite countertops, while the bathroom has been played with beautiful petrol-colored tiles and unique details such as the stone basin.

The result is a Mediterranean house, bright, with a lot of ventilation, ideal for a couple and to enjoy the neighborhood.
