The Opera House has both enjoyed and endured many lives since 1895, the year in which it was built. This space, in Bournemouth, originally marked buy the elegance of the Victorian era, has since revealed many other styles as a result of successive refurbishments. Today the Opera House is a place with a multi-purpose entertainment venue – showcasing music, dance and comedy – which manages to maintain all its glamorous theatrical intimacy despite its 2,200 person capacity. During the façade recovering, the interiors where totally remodeled, assuming the present characteristics in this most emblematic space. The lighting project reinforces drama of both the main and peripheral rooms, with a scheme which impresses for its originality and at the same time for its sheer simplicity. The Paulo Coelho collections Delta Zen and Saturno Zen, with finishing in wengue and shades in black chintz with white stripe (Orbita), neatly mirror, and give a nod to, the history and contemporary design story of the Opera House, which has once again become a proud landmark in the south of London.
