The Design Center of Oaxaca is a leading one nationwide that aims to promote the design and position-as a fundamental tool for social, cultural and economic development of the state of Oaxaca.


It seeks to promote the culture of design from its aesthetic, while proposing to go beyond it, to raise awareness of its great potential in building ¬ tion of the common welfare, social harmony and environmental sustainability.


For CDO secured office space in the former Convent of Santo Domingo in Oaxaca City. The address of the CDO, by Liz Galvan, commissioned Emil Godoy iano interior design of the space and the collaboration of Masisa


The project for CDO headquarters, located in one of the bays vaulted Ethnobotanical Garden area, try to respond not only to the practical needs of the Centre but his conviction innovation and transparency, revaluation of the role of public service and the idea of ​​design as possi ¬ ity constant renewal. He decided to work in stages given the characteristics of the property, heritage of humanity and the diverse needs of the CDO.


In this design exploited the opportunity to reflect the spirit of the center to establish a dialogue with the architecture and the strong identi ¬ tion of the former Convent of Santo Domingo de Guzman. Healthy work within CDO.Formalmente headquarters, this dialogue came from certain features monumental Convent Ex: delineation and enhancement of the vault ¬ das semicircular arches through, and reminiscent of the thick walls can tera ¬ in building buttresses that support these arches.


One of the factors that allowed the project to take this step to fruition and on budget was raised sponsorship in kind company Masisa. This alliance was established as Masisa has environmental and social policies in full accordance with the values ​​of the CDO and equipment diseñadores.En particular material chosen-DecoMDF Masisa-is made with industrial waste fibers and with certified E- 1 for low VOC emissions.

El Centro de Diseño de Oaxaca es una iniciativa de vanguardia a nivel nacional que tiene como objetivo promover el diseño y posicionar-lo como una herramienta fundamental para el desarrollo social, cultural y económico del estado de Oaxaca.


Busca promover la cultura del diseño desde su aspecto estético, al mismo tiempo que propone ir más allá de éste, para crear consciencia de su gran potencial en la construc¬ción del bienestar común, la paz social y la sustentabilidad ambiental.


Para el CDO se aseguró un espacio de oficina dentro del Ex Convento de Santo Domingo en la ciudad de Oaxaca. La dirección del CDO, a cargo Liz Galván, comisionó a Emiliano Godoy el diseño de interiores de dicho espacio y la colaboración de Masisa


El proyecto para la sede del CDO, ubicada en una de las crujías abovedadas en el área del Jardín Etnobotánico, intenta responder no sólo a las necesidades prácticas de dicho Centro sino a su convicción de innovación y transparencia, de revaloración del papel del servicio público y de la idea del diseño como posibili¬dad constante de renovación. Se decidió trabajar por etapas dadas las características del inmueble —patrimonio de la humanidad— y a las diversas necesidades del CDO.


En este diseño se explotó la oportunidad de reflejar el espíritu del centro al establecer un diálogo con la arquitectura y la fuerte identi¬dad del Ex Convento de Santo Domingo de Guzmán. de trabajo sano dentro de la sede del CDO.Formalmente, este diálogo se dio a partir de ciertos rasgos monumentales del Ex Convento: delineación y realce de las bóve¬das de medio punto por medio de arcadas; y reminiscencias a los gruesos muros de can¬tera en la construcción de contrafuertes que sostienen dichas arcadas.


Uno de los factores que permitieron llevar esta etapa del proyecto a buen término y dentro del presupuesto planteado fue un patrocinio en especie de la empresa Masisa. Esta alianza fue establecida ya que Masisa tiene políticas ambientales y sociales en total consonancia con los valores del CDO y del equipo de diseñadores.En particular, el material escogido –DecoMDF Masisa– está hecho con fibras de residuos industriales y contando con certificados como E-1 por bajas emisiones de VOC.
