The plot on Nireos str is located just of the seaside of Voula and provides impressive views while still being protected from the noise of the busy road. Though a large complex with a dense building brief, the proposal composes the apartments in such a way to give the impression of each being a detached house.
The apartments are shifted as not to obstruct towards the view and using maritime references they are enclosed by large freeform garden balconies that create a sense of privacy and an extention of the living areas.
Three types of apartments are created: ground floor houses that are triple height with a basement plus a mezzanine level and include large private gardens; regular apartments with large balconies and swimming pools that have been extended even further by creating a garden surrounding them; and double height penthouses that within the same garden balconies provide a large roof terrace with swimming pool. A glazed gap between the apartments provides a open and light space for staircases and elevators.
