Designsmith as Architects

Nautica's flagship store in Dubai Hills Mall unveils a trio of distinct experiences that spotlight the brand's versatile product range. Guided by the creative direction of Designsmith, this space is divided into three sections, each with its unique design sensibility while sharing common elements.

The first section reflects an industrial minimalist style, with understated flooring drawing attention to a central focal point. An abstract interpretation of a modern boat adorns the floor, capturing the essence of maritime influence.

Moving to the second area, visitors are greeted by a cosier atmosphere, achieved through the use of wood and carpeting. The retail display structures evoke the craftsmanship of boat making, featuring integrated LED lighting that subtly enhances their appearance. This section accommodates two display formats: a modular system that adjusts to changing product collections and a collaborative display tailored for brand partnerships and events.

In the third and final section, a playful and child-friendly ambiance takes centre stage, with a dedicated focus on Kids clothing. An animated wall finish reminiscent of waves introduces a touch of whimsy, creating an energetic backdrop for showcasing children's fashion. The inclusion of adjustable shelves caters to the ever-changing demands, offering versatility in presenting the products.

Lighting plays a significant role in defining the atmosphere within these sections. In the first area, there's a mirrored panel with a subtle LED border that evokes a maritime feel. In the second part, surface lights complement the wooden displays, while in the third section, suspended and recessed lights contribute to the lively ambiance.

Throughout the store, recurring design elements tie everything together seamlessly. These design choices are thoughtfully integrated, creating a unified feel across the different sections. Ultimately, the result is a space that remains open to change yet maintains an inviting and cohesive brand identity.
