In Garbatella, a couple of young lovers of contemporary culture – design, art, and literature – passionate about antiques and avid visitors of markets in Rome and abroad, were in search of a house that maintained the typical architectural characteristics of their neighborhood's buildings, reinterpreted in order to provide a fluid and luminous space. A sort of musical score where furniture, art, and collection pieces could find their proper and harmonious arrangement.
A sequence of newly plastered white walls alternate and rhythmically blend with original painted ones, now faded. The use of different color schemes for each room provides a light characterization, while maintaining the same flooring throughout. The challenge lay in adding an extra layer of project care and attention to detail to the already beautiful identity of this expert client’s home.
