Trifle* complete interiors for mirrorworks, stratford – latest co-working outpost from workspace

Trifle* as Architects

Mirror Works on Marshgate Lane, Stratford is the most recent outpost by Workspace, designed by leading workspace experts and commercial Interior Designers, Trifle*.

The creative agency with a reputation for designing workspaces with people at the very heart, has an ongoing relationship with Workspace, enjoying a collaboration on a roll-out of spaces and an exciting challenge to devise each with a local ‘feel’ - drawing upon history from the immediate and wider vicinity for each creative expression. Armed with ongoing research into how workspaces can and need to function for businesses and individuals – Trifle* applied a bold, sophisticated palette and highly contemporary style, helping to establish the newest Workspace venture as a proud beacon within a fast-evolving, East London hub. Giving each space a strong sense of identity is an important part of the design brief for Workspace, as well as integral to Trifle*’s overall approach to workspace design.

Trifle* has used colour to cleverly define the spaces at Mirror Works, a vibrant addition to the Stratford area which has seen huge amounts of regenerative growth since the 1990’s and more rapidly since the 2012 London Olympics. On the ground floor, cool blues set the mood with rich, wine tones creating comfortable lounge zones - all accented by pops of yellow and green. Textural elements give depth to the scheme – from plush upholstery to acoustic panels - making it a very tactile and homely experience. The impressive lighting sculpture and mirrored elements throughout the space all pay homage to the site’s history as a former Victorian glassworks factory which backs onto the canal for picturesque views of 4 rivers merging into one. The road leading up to the space carries remnants of the nightclubs and car lots from a former 90’s Marshgate Lane, still visible behind hoardings.
