The project is located above the village of Grimisuat, on a plot facing south with an unobstructed view of the Rhône plain. The plot is slightly sloping and ends downstream on a very steep slope.
With its gable roof, reduced massing and wood cladding, the house gives the impression of a hut. It is located at the edge of the vegetation and is cantilevered on the slope break. She then enjoys the panorama and a great privacy.
Built for a couple for their old age, the program is on one level. The plan is articulated with specific volumes: kitchen, bathroom, patio and terrace form a continuous interior living space while creating sub-spaces with differentiated characters and relationships. At the same time intimate and open to the landscape, the house has a varied relationship with the outside. The patio, which gives access to the house, is a veritable open-air room, while the terrace to the south, projects above the void and gives the feeling of living in the trees.
The floor, covered with a dark floor, creates a strong contrast with the exposed concrete walls, reinforcing the feeling of a continuous space. Service areas such as the kitchen, the bathroom or the entrance hall are characterised by their lower ceiling height and their green hue. The façade is covered with anthracite vertical wooden slats. The patio and terrace are carved into the volume and take, with their metal cladding, the same green hue as the kitchen and the bathroom.
