Dual Taller de Arquitectura as Architects

The main propose was to create a small business office project for a manufacturer of vulcanized footwear withexport quality.

The challenge was to use the least possible space and resource and at the same time improve the space quality ofAssociates, so there for we proposed to generate an office annex that could dialogue with the existing industrial environment and at the same time create a building that contrast through time and space.

The program was simple, reception, toilet, cellar and meeting room, although one of the main requirements was notto lose effective warehouse. Inside, a clear, clean and well-lit space was thought for clients and sellers to feelcomfortable during visit.

We work with different materials and details to create an identity that will not passed unnoticed, the flow constantswere analyzed and a chromatic language was proposed to point out the accesses and transitions.

From the hand of associate, we worked together to create the “envelope” making us to understand the properties ofthe materials, to create new forms and techniques. Those folded shapes and the new windows in the facilities let theair flow inside our box, making mayor comfort not only in our dynamic box but in the whole warehouse.

It was planted in the loading area, where the product is ready for export. There, where the steel body is detached bycolumns to guarantee the operative process in the lower part, a light mezzanine based on plywood and flexiblecoating for heavy traffic was placed, this reduced costs and gives efficiency in construction processes.

It was covered with a folded skin made of steel sheet, creating a series of shadows that allows a constant movementduring the year, certain gaps were raised in the facade for the supervision of the shipping product, creating anarchitecture in the middle of mountains of boxes, where its materiality is emphasized and easily identified, making yellow as a language between company and users.Following the yellow path.

How to think an office space into a collective domain?
Our team believe that architecture used as node of interaction where clients, workers and directors meets, shouldbe collective and unfolded.

An "Envelope" where associates and clients life encounters, offering a new quality - morphological – atmosphereable to break the typological sequence of the Industrial environment.
