Lineage House

The Lineage House by Chaukor Studio

Chaukor Studio as Architects

Houses have tales to tell. The walls, garden or even a broken window can transport you back to a time when a small boy hit a sixer and dashed away before anyone could see him. People breathe life into the structure and are the heart and soul of the memories they create in it.

The Lineage House is a country home situated in Mirzapur, near Varanasi. It has large, open areas that make them ideal for multigenerational families who enjoy living together as well as enjoy entertaining people.

This house is like a stepping stone to build a home for the current and coming generations where they can live their lives from childhood to old age. Making memories and growing old together in a place bonds you closely to the house and every little corner might tingle a memory of the past.

Ancestral Home in the Modern Era
In today's society, traditional village rituals have taken on a new turn. They do exist, but they have a sense of modernism and progress as time changes. The house still has spaces allotted for collaborative spaces, not only for the family but also for the villagers who they consider as part of the same community. The traditions which their ancestors used to practice have still found relevance in this urbane era.

The area outside the house has a small social gathering surrounded by greens which is a great way to enjoy the outdoors with your loved ones. Such spaces not only are considered as collaborative spaces, but also result in an interrelationship between the indoor and outdoor.

A granary which has an image of a temporary structure with lots of dirt around clouds our opinion on how the spaces would look and feel. To the contrary, having a calm and clean space near the entrance as a granary serves our purpose as well as looks aesthetically appealing.

Legacy
It makes no difference what you do as long as you improve something from its original state without detracting from its natural character. Each generation adds to the values and ethics build up their ancestors. Lineage House aims to be that house where people feel at home and generations have memories to cherish. As rightly said by Frank Gehry, “Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness.”
Such country homes are constructed with a long term in mind. They are not only for the current generation, but also for future generations, serving not only as houses but also as centres for responsible land stewardship.

The Villa
The house is grand yet bestows a welcoming feeling. Large structures resonate opulence and impart the impression of magnificence.

The home lends itself to the surrounding environment by merging the outdoor to the indoor built environment. Colonial eclectic modern style sets a mood of the whole space as a tranquil and serene country home which brings together a large joint family under one roof.

The house's classical style produces a very simple yet elegant sense, which reflects the owners' humble personality. The color tones used in the house are very minimal and the greys and white with clean lines create an impression of celebrating the ordinary. Often in life, we get so lost that we forget about little things that are taking us closer to our goal on a daily basis. This kind of architecture is a way to help you find calm in the chaos.

A serene and clean atmosphere is created through the use of grey, white, black, and flashes of green. The use of a range of textures complements each other. Modern country houses are distinguished by huge glass windows. The outside flows into the house, while the inside is open to the outside. This implies a desire for a higher level of connection with nature. You become involved in the landscape rather than managing it.

The pavement creates a strong contrast between the building and ground. The building grabs our focus due to the color combination and high contrast.

Conclusion
It is vital to never forget your roots that keep you grounded and humble. To be in a space which you can call yours that connects you deeper to your values and ethics is something to hold onto!
