The 2010 University of Colorado Design+Build studio, led by the H:T principals, designed two pavilions for local non-profits Feed Denver and The Urban Farm at Stapleton. The non-profits believe through hands-on agriculture and environmental education, they can improve the lives of children living in high-risk, urbanized neighborhoods by helping to create a sense of positive self-regard and self reliance, a strong work ethic and hope. The studio produced a Learning Cube which marks the entry as an iconic open-air gathering pavilion and market. The Dairy House provides shelter for milking and shearing the animals. The pavilions were constructed by fundraising, material donations and found materials on site. (Photos by Nathan Jenkins)
