Las Acacias House

Las Acacias House

GOO ARQUITECTOS as Architects

The project arise from the idea of having a places where to arrive and enjoy during a weekend with friends or family outside Mexico City.

Considering that this house will not have the same usage than one located in the city, the intention is to make the most of the outdoors spaces, leaving indoors to minimum dimensions.

So the relation between indoors and outdoors becomes the key of the project; to make more dynamic this relationship, we propose wood panels that can be opened or closed as wanted. Despite having fixed spaces like kitchen and bathroom, all the other spaces are flexible and could be transformed with furniture. In the first level is possible to adapt a bedroom or a tv room; and in the ground floor could be used like a living room, a dining room, a lounge or like a place for meeting. The yard also could be adapted for different activities; we propose several pole holes that could be used to define an entertainment activity like soccer, volleyball or a tent space in the middle of the yard.

Furniture is an important piece for house, because with it we could transform space depending on the activity. We designed wood square stools that can be used in different situations depending on the position they are laid, these could be used indoors as well as outdoors.
