Larnaca Airport

New Airport in Cyprus takes off with GROHE

GROHE as Manufacturers

Reopened in November 2009, the country’s most important international airport, Larnaca International Airport, is expected to handle up to 7.5 million travellers per year. 98,000 square metres, 67 check-in counters and 16 passenger boarding bridges mean that the rebuilt airport has tripled in size and is now much better equipped to handle international air traffic. Thanks to innovative GROHE products, the sanitary facilities of the airport meet the high demands made by visitors from all over the world.

The airport expansion cost about EUR 643 million but the underlying concept goes even further and includes plans for an airport hotel and a large entertainment center to further strengthen the country’s tourism industry. The airport is a symbol of a new era in Cyprus. Priority was therefore attached to modern furniture and fittings. High-quality materials and impressive technologies combine to raise the bar for air transportation infrastructure projects of this kind. All the equipment is the state of the art.

The furniture and fittings of the sanitary facilities in the check-in areas and the terminals are fitted with GROHE products, which combine advanced technology and contemporary functionality with highly aesthetic designs.

GROHE Europlus E faucets are ready to refresh passengers with cool water after a long and exhausting flight. Thanks to their infrared controls, they offer an especially high level of hygiene as is expected by today’s international travellers. The same “clean technology” is used on the urinals fitted with electronically controlled GROHE Skate Tectron actuation plates whose robust stainless steel finish facilitates fast and thorough cleaning. GROHE Rapid SL sanitary elements ensure that things are kept in perfect flow even behind the walls. The integrated flushing cisterns use GROHE Whisper® technology for pleasantly low-noise operation.
