CAN | Landmark South Sky Garden

CAN Design Limited as Architects

CAN is excited to announce its appointment to Sino Group and Empire Group’s recently unveiled ‘Landmark South’, a flagship commercial project in Wong Chuk Hang that inspires a new work ethos.

CAN is delivering the interior design for the Sky Garden, as well as the façade and lobby design that features sustainably designed office spaces. The development sets the standard for future-proofed work environments, creating a landmark for the vibrant new community of Hong Kong Southside.

Located at the heart of Hong Kong Southside’s new business district, Landmark South is only three minutes’ walk from MTR Wong Chuk Hang Station. As the key part of the Hong Kong Government’s Invigorating Island South initiatives, Wong Chuk Hang is an emerging creative hub that is both residential and business-friendly.

The 9,000-sqft Sky Garden on the 8th floor, as well as a 4,100-sqft indoor greenery is an urban green oasis for tenants and their guests. The design concept focused on wellbeing and sustainability that embrace work-life balance and sustainable development. With the mountain and urban views, the open layout enhances flexibility for diversified wellness programs that offer natural tranquillity and social connections for the users. To facilitate the art and creative exchange at Landmark South, a full suite of wellness programming will be on offer, such as: guided yoga and meditation practice, urban farming workshops, coffee tasting and herbal tea appreciation.

Façade and lobby design extends the design language of the Sky Garden that seamlessly blends into nature. An escalator to L2 that mimics the dramatic slope of the Aberdeen Country hills while the 270-degree all-round view windows welcome bountiful sunlight throughout the day. The distinct and continuous façade and entry lobby design create both a dramatic experience and a branded environment.

“We are thrilled to be involved in designing Landmark South by delivering the design to meet the best practices international standards. The Sky Garden elevates the overall identity of Landmark South and reflects the core values and personalities of the created places within the development. The design prioritizes wellness in the workplace, establishing a more cheerful, fulfilling, and productive working environment for workplace occupants, creating a unified sense of place for people of diverse cultural backgrounds,” said Ada Ng, Director at CAN.

In addition to its thoughtfully designed workspaces and communal spaces, Landmark South will be the permanent home of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC). Landmark South is poised to become a new cultural, creative and art hub for Hong Kong and the region. The development is due to be completed by Q2 2022.
