The apartment, resulting from the extension of an existing villa, overlooks the splendid Gulf of Tigullio just a few kilometers from the city of Genoa. This project was conceived for the young owners, lovers of the sea, eager to create a refuge that celebrates the unique magic and beauty of the place, an oasis to welcome friends and cultivate their passions.
The sleeping area, simple yet welcoming, accommodates two bedrooms and two bathrooms, while the spacious and versatile living room opens up to the sea, becoming the pulsating heart of the home.
The project seeks a balance between architectural interventions and respect for the surrounding environment.
The spaces are characterized by few elements, whose colors and materials have been carefully selected not to overwhelm the atmosphere, keeping the Gulf of Paradiso as the undisputed protagonist.
To evoke the sensation of being on the bow of a boat in a natural harbor, continuity between the indoor and outdoor spaces assumes a predominant role.
The large glass window in the living room, strategically positioned two rafters from the edge of the roof, limits excessive solar exposure indoors and accentuates the fusion between the living spaces and the marine landscape. The custom-made stainless steel-framed glass partition offers unobstructed panoramic views, allowing occupants to fully enjoy the beauty of the Gulf.
The wooden flooring, comprised of oak planks for the interiors and teak for the terrace, characterizes the entire environment, while the floating solution for the teak flooring dissolves the boundaries between indoors and outdoors.
The roof, constructed of prefabricated wood with exposed trusses and substructure, rests solely on the perimeter walls, allowing for a free distribution of spaces. Openings in the roof frame sections of sky that bring air and light to specific areas or to spaces that would otherwise be deprived.
