Lena Zufarova Interiors as Interior Designers

It had to be both a "family nest" and a comfortable guest-welcoming space. It was important to maintain a balance: considering the budling’s modern architecture it still had to reflect the owners' interest in vintage design and love for elegant Parisian interiors although without turning the project into pure and somewhat dull stylization.

They key challenge was that the original planning, while having many load-bearing elements, wasn’t prepared for a big family life. This was the most difficult task to face, as we had to create a convenient space for all 5 family members. There were no walls in the apartment, but there were three supporting columns with communications, one of them was located directly on the axis of the entrance to the apartment, literally 2 meters away. These columns, of course, cannot be affected in any way during the repair process, and their location created rather refined planning prerequisites.

Natural materials were used in the project, in the common area the oak parquet with its layout refers to both Parisian and old Moscow interiors, in other rooms the oak plank was chosen with a narrow width, more typical for old Parisian apartments, in the hallway there are cement tiles of different colors, specially made for this apartment in “Luxemix” adds color and humor to the interior, a tribute to the classics coupled with modernity - gypsum cornices with a laconic pattern, all corners have a soft rounded shape.
