Kop Zuidas is a prominent landmark for Europe’s largest urban expansion project and is situated at the apex of many of Amsterdam’s most important transport links, including the A10 ring road and Europa Boulevard, which feed directly into central Amsterdam.
The Kop Zuidas vision is to sculpt a concise, high density urban landscape, complimented with strong visual aesthetics in order to achieve a comprehension of a transition into the Zuidas area. By placing the tallest commercial buildings against the flank towards the A10, one can create an effective wind and noise barrier, creating a calm oasis in which schools, hotels, theatres and residential properties will reside.
Furthermore the detailing includes a theatre to the west and an energy reducing office building on plot C to the east, which both will provide an important visual reference and identity to the area.
