This old 200 m2 apartment with architecture built over 40 years ago is located in Itaim - Bibi in São Paulo, and belongs to a young couple of administrators who are fans of the office.
With freedom and plenty of ideas, Diego Revollo was given full support to create and bring a new atmosphere to the apartment.
The archaic maid's room was demolished to make way for a private bathroom in the couple's bedroom. Walls were eliminated to integrate areas and, as a result, incredible surprises emerged during this phase of change.
The cove that appears in the ceiling of the dining room was not in the plans, but was chosen by Diego Revollo as his favorite detail in the architecture he achieved.
"When we cleaned the apartment, we came across a well-reinforced structure and immediately decided to use it to give the project personality. In addition to the internal height gain it provided, the decorative effect of the beam structure is one of the social area's greatest attractions."
Another inclusion is the sliding glass door that separates the kitchen from the dining room. As the initial idea was to integrate the rooms more, there was a little resistance from the clients, but Diego Revollo advised the use of transparency to incorporate one room into the other smoothly.
The use of the colors black + white as a background was one of the project's main guidelines. A neutral palette was defined to match the clients' style and invested in contrasts that Diego Revollo finds particularly interesting.
A contemporary and totally chic apartment that accommodates functional decor with an interesting mix that embraces and converses with all cultures.
