Interior Mengi Yay 31,7m "Serenitas"

Guido de Groot Design as Interior Architects

Every now and then as a studio we are able to take on a project that is quite unconventional. It is one of the aspects of our job that makes it so interesting. The interior design of the motor yacht, previously named Serenitas II, is inspired by the very first series of Star Trek, the science fiction television series of the 1970s. Guido de Groot: “We took a close look at the interior of the original Enterprise space ship, and looked at re-creating some of the retro-futuristic elements.”

The result is an interior that has modern soft shapes for the furniture with the purpose of making an interior that is friendly in nature. “We also selected light coloured marbles in blue and white to give a fresh and calm feeling, combined with grey and blue leathers and white lacquer finishes.”

’MY Serenitas’ is the second yacht with this name. She is a 31.7 m luxury displacement yacht built in Turkey by Mengi Yay and delivered in 2017. Serenitas features a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. Her top speed is 13.0 kn and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 3600.0 nm at 10.0 kn with power coming from two 497.0 hp Caterpillar C-12 diesel engines. She can accommodate up to ten people with six crew members waiting on their every need
