Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa

Marazzi as Manufacturers

Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa is a luxury hotel on a private island off the western coast of Okinawa, in Japan. The concept of the project, handled by the Hashimoto Yukio Design Studio Inc., was to incorporate the rich, fascinating natural environment into the hotel, seeking to maintain a link with the island in order to offer guests a space where they could relax. The two Marazzi material effects used for this resort were wood-effect and stone-effect porcelain stoneware, from the Treverkway, Mystone and Soho collections. Guests arriving at the hotel are greeted by Mystone Pietra di Vals Greige 60x60 and 30x60 cm, as this porcelain stoneware collection was chosen to cover both the floor and the counter of the reception area. Mystone Pietra di Vals Greige also recurs in the foyer and bar of the hotel, while the restaurant was decorated with a mix&match of Treverkway Castagno 15x90 cm wood-effect and Mystone Pietra di Vals Greige 60x60 cm stone-effect materials. Soho Antracite 30x120 cm, chosen for the hotel's bathrooms, combines with a fascinating mosaic, which received an honourable mention at the ADI Compasso D’oro awards in 2011, made up of interlocking complementary ceramic modules of different shape and thickness, created by waterjet cutting. Finally, the sides of the indoor pool were lined with white Mystone Gris Fleury in the 60x120 cm size.
