Hirslanden AndreasKlinik Cham Zug opts for geothermal energy

Jansen as Geothermal systems

Since summer 2017, a new geothermal probe heat pump has provided the requisite energy in the Hirslanden AndreasKlinik Cham Zug. In total, 16 JANSEN geotwin PN16 (40 x 3.7 mm) geothermal probes including injection tubes and loop weights were each installed at a depth of 250 m. Together, they guarantee a large share of the required cold and heat output. In addition to our geothermal probes, additional products and services from the areas of power supply and drainage were utilised.

All of the drilling and tethering work was carried out by the experienced company GTB Erdsondenbohrungen. The Hirslanden AndreasKlinik Cham Zug is therefore replacing its current cooling unit and at the same time is relieving its dependency on the existing gas heating system. The use of sustainable geothermal energy will specifically allow for a reduction in gas consumption and pollutant emissions by up to 50%. The geothermal probe heat pump in Cham Zug is the first to be used within the Hirslanden private clinic group. There are plans to install further heat pumps at other locations.
