Harambee is a not-for-profit enterprise that focuses on employment acceleration for youth. Through partnerships with over 500 businesses, Harambee is paving the way for youth into a secure, employed future and we were honoured to be tasked with the design of their new space.
As a fast-growing business Harambee required flexibility and a high level of space efficiency to meet their needs as a business, which sees high volumes of interaction with youth. Movement through the space is characterised by the holistic design concept that is the embodiment of what Harambee is enabling for our youth: Connection and Interaction.
The idea was to create an environment which not only connected students and the businesses physically but also visually. This idea of ‘interconnection’ is formulated into an inset on the floor, weaving from the reception, through the training rooms, through the open-plan space and into the café in one continuous line.
The artwork and graphics throughout the space represent the vibrant nature of the Harambee brand as well as the message behind each of Harambee’s values.
