VILGENIS SCHOOL GROUP

BPA Architecture as Architects

The school group is located on the edge of this new district, on this city/nature boundary, and requires us to take into account this landscape value. For our group, it is a question of offering the children of the district, faced with its constraints and its stakes, a school group with architectural and environmental quality shared by all, and with optimized comfort.

The urban integration of the facility emphasizes its proximity to the residents of the neighborhood by opening up to the Place des Ecoles. The entrance to the underground public parking lot and the delivery area is directed towards the Rue de Vilgénis opposite the Place des commerces, thus securing the flow of traffic in front of the school entrance. The school group is developed according to an H-shaped typology which allows to respond in a rational way to the desired organization of the different entities but also to offer the best orientations for the interior and exterior spaces, the classrooms benefiting from a southern orientation; the best for teaching premises.

Privileging the use of the ground floor for the reception areas, the playgrounds, the school restaurant and the classes for the very young, the establishment develops on two floors for the older children.
