Grand Central, abuts Mut Wah Street and Hip Wo Street, where local markets, transport terminals and public facilities abounded. The project comprises 1,999 residential units provided in the Tower portion, a two-level public transport interchange (PTI) for franchised buses and public light buses, a hawker bazaar (HB), a refuse collection point (RCP), public open space and retail shops in podium portion. 4 residential towers are aligned on 2 sides of the podium, with a 77,000 square feet large outdoor green space provided in the middle as a leisure park at the top of the podium, which serves as a much-needed public green space for the overly populated old urban area of Kwun Tong.
Multi-level connections from the street entrance, footbridge and MTR through future Development Areas 4 & 5 are created so that all facilities on podium are well-connected to enhance public accessibility in Kwun Tong. Grand Central is by far the largest urban redevelopment project in Hong Kong and the first Indoor air-conditioned queuing area for public transport interchange in Hong Kong.
