Geometra office

rudolphy + bizama arquitectos as Architects

The office of the company GEOMETRA, is located on the fifth floor of a new office building, located in a traditional residential neighbourhood of Santiago. Given its excellent connectivity through nearby streets, it is in a process of incorporating new land uses.

The configuration of the original free space, which was almost square proportions, leaving in the center this space a place that possibly could have been very dark, so the proposal chose to avoid the compartmentalization of offices and transparency prevail for work areas as the relationship of the company with its customers.

We were interested that all users could interact in the office and that people could meet and share the privileged views of the Andes and the nearby hills.

The simplicity and inner balance allows us to always present external views as protagonists. Interior architecture proposes a master plan of simple lines, but that could accommodate all the functional requirements of the company. A large metal vertical blind divided the office into two areas: public and private, but at the same time related through fragmented views and the passage of light. The metallic elements are directly related to the origin of Geometra as a construction company.

In the private area collaborative work was favored by spatial and functional configuration that would allow all workers engage in a free plant, which became the heart of the company where they work, talk or just circulate; private offices also participate in this life through transparency and access, but have their intimate life with the great view of the Andes.

The original services were held in location and configuration, added to this system, a kitchenette with dining space that privileges the rest in a spacious and generous views to the nearby hills, like the rest of the office.

The furniture designed especially for each space and lighting reinforce formal simplicity of architecture as a support for the inner life of the office, looking for a balance of the color palette between white and wood. Only green highlights in the areas of residence, closed offices and meeting rooms, giving the feeling of closeness with nature and visual rest, providing comfort and also contributing to the soundproofing of spaces.
