Expansion of the Administrative Centre of the Centre de services scolaires de la Pointe de l'Île (CSSPI)

UN architecture as Architects

This expansion project (2975 m2 on three floors) of the administrative center of the Centre de services scolaire de la Pointe-de-l’Île (CSSPI) is the result of a bold vision for UN architecture and its clients. Through this expansion, the firm wished to create modern and functional workspaces for the center's employees, while improving its ability to welcome new members.

The existing building, built several years ago, is solid and well maintained, but no longer met the CSSPI's current and evolving needs. This expansion provided new, larger and brighter workspaces for both staff and human resources employees, teaching specialists, computer resources, as well as material resources.

This building embodies the new values of biophilia, green transportation and openness to its community. It has become an example to other buildings in the borough of how we can combine aesthetics, sustainability and community engagement.

In terms of material, brick is an integral part of exterior architecture. It is recyclable, durable and strong enough to withstand Canadian weather conditions. It also provides better soundproofing (interesting acoustic quality). Brick allows a harmony with the existing building, while providing a modern touch to reflect the firm's commitment to innovation and growth.
