EL FARO (The LIGHTHOUSE)
ARCHITECTS DAY_CAPBA D2_JULIO_2022
2 events
one in Banfield and another in Quilmes
we met again after two years
some of us went,
others could not go
but were present
A light in the CAPBA
that illuminates the way on the day of the architect
an installation, an ephemeral architecture at the institution
The building, the permanent
Our life, our passage through the earth,
a flash of light, the person, his path and at the end
its footprints
a tribute to those who are gone but still illuminate our steps
that is a lighthouse
STRUCTURE
The scaffolding as an element that helps to make the work
People as scaffolding that participate in the projects
SKIN
The bubble film as an envelope
protects the fragile gives shape
The permeable and transparent skin
INTERIOR
The light,
the only thing that remains
The lighthouse, illuminates our future steps
On the first of July, the architects day, we thought it was necessary to make evident the presence of the founders of CAPBA and colleagues who have died in recent times and have left a huge void in our institution and in ourselves.
The tribute built is a monument, is architecture, is an ephemeral monument
The scaffolding turned out to be the most appropriate way to settle in the vicinity of permanent architecture.
The scaffold is the structure that helps to build something bigger than itself, just as people are for the school.
The nylon coating with bubbles, material used by the institution to pack panels of competitions that had to be dispatched to be jurors, was the most appropriate for its symbolic value and for the ability it has to be transparent and in turn with its bubbles dissipate the light and prevent looking through the structure.
The LED lights, attached to the tubes, reinforce the initial geometry of the scaffolding and in turn complete together with the skin the volumetry of the two-level body.
The lighthouse, completed the list of attendees to the celebration
The approach of the guests to the structure peek, touch, enter, interact the curiosity of knowing what it was and know our history …
The light that gave off, was a greeting, an advice, a smile, a see you forever.
