Brief
Drogenbos Retail Park, just outside Brussels covers 29,000 m² and was re-opened in 2010 after a complete refurbishment.
With a view to energy efficiency and sustainability, the new units were built according to the BREEAM standard. This is the oldest and most globally-used standard for sustainable construction. Photovoltaic solar panels were also installed on the roof.
New facade panels were required which could provide superior thermal efficiency and fire performance, and also meet the visual expectations of the architect. Kingspan's insulated wall panels met these criteria and were perfect for this project.
The solution
The resulting re-furbished retail centre is now completely up to date, with a modern, stylish design and sustainability credentials which are aligned to the BREAAM standards.
Products used
Evolution insulated wall panels by Benchmark were used. Benchmark is a superior range of panels manufactured by Kingspan, which put aesthetics and design as a top priority, whilst also assuring the same exceptional level of technical performance seen in all Kingspan's panels.
