M+R created a design to extend the lobby area for theatergoers in the Chassé Theatre in Breda. In stark contrast with the warm, natural colours of the classic Brasserie, for which the design was made 2003, the basic colour in the new theatre cafe is predominantly white. The length of the cafe borders onto the main square, which accounts for the name FRONT. Through the transparent wall the interior becomes a continuation of the public area. On the inside the extensive glass bar emphasizes the length of the room. The large mirrored wall behind it creates a colourful kaleidoscope caused by the glass shelves stacked with bottles. In the zone around the glass facade, there are white benches and pouffes surrounding the sizeable pillars in a railway coach layout. By creating a light object, this area attracts the attention of visitors and passers-by alike.
