The house BE is located in a residential area of Tigre, in the province of Buenos Aires. The desire of this family was to be able to share the house with their friends and family. They sought to live in a house that receives and "embraces" the guests that arrive but at the same time generates the necessary privacy for the meeting. The house is divided according to the program (public, private and services) in different volumes that are differentiated by their materiality. The volume of services is cement, harder and more closed, and turns over the west, protecting the house from the more complicated sun and from the neighbor's views. The most private volume contains the rooms and is made of wood, warmer. It rises to free the ground floor and at the same time looking for views and natural sun. Finally, the public and meeting space is composed of stone and glass. <the contrast between these materials allows us to manage the relationship of this space with the street, the neighbors and the garden. The relationship and disposition between these volumes is what generates the "hug", the privacy and the encounter. The heart of the house is the living-dining space. This is the place where the meeting between the family and its guests takes place. A large double height gives it a hierarchy and allows the space to incorporate views and indirect lighting from the south at the top. A stone wall protects this space from the views of the street and the neighbor on the ground floor. Finally, a large sliding opening integrates the gallery into the living space of the living room generating a single large shared space where the interior and exterior merge.
