Two floors, two ambience, two areas; a design line
Under this premise we designed the new cafeteria for the boy's school "Liceo Del Valle" A school project of Grupo Colmenares.
The inspiration for this project comes from the ephemeral spaces where you can find fun for all ages; The circus: A meeting point that turns 360 * with fun, magic, colors, laughs, food and details.
The architectural building is circular and has two levels where each was designated for different areas.
The ground floor was designed as a dining room for elementary and junior high school students.
The main material in this area is the concrete, it covers all the walls, ceiling and floor.
For this level, large smithy structures were designed, a material of good strength and simple line that painted in blue with red accents dresses the entire area, adds dynamism and flows around the spaces contrasting with the concrete and integrating into the organic forms of the architecture.
A large blue bar paints the space and turns this cafeteria into a functional area where students can heat their food and wash their hands.
The aim of the upper floor was to create a more “lounge” environment where high school students, teachers and parents can meet for lunch, or study. Two large wooden bars delimitate the interior space and turning this floorinto a more cozy and intimate area. On the terrace we find a large space dressed up with plants that help generate a great sense of community between the different users.
The use of furniture is varied, we selected a brand of Mexican furniture excellent for exterior or interior where the mixture in the colors gives the space an unique identity.
Both areas share rolled details and PVC fabrics unifying the environments of this school cafeteria.
