A 90s built apartment was upgraded into a holistic contemporary living space with a serene, eye-catching master bedroom. The coastal location, being set back from Bondi Beach with views over Rose Bay, provided inspiration for both form and colour. The three-bedroom beach-located apartment presented as a soulless 90s canvas with original fittings.
The renovated master bedroom design was inspired by bold hues and textures to ripple throughout the space, seeking to create a cohesion of contemporary and functionality. The apartment overlooks deep grey-green harbour views which, along with the client’s love of deep greens and blues, heavily influenced the tonal depth of the tropics featured. This theme resonates throughout the apartment with the choice of jungle panorama wallpaper in the master bedroom rimmed by blue powder coated handles to match the bedhead.
The bold splashes of colour accentuated the spatial changes made and seamlessly reflected the inspiration of the organic richness of nature. This holistic approach to design that was adopted for the apartment, was enhanced with a new dark timber flooring base throughout bedrooms and living, upon which both bold and subtle material and colour shifts were made.
