The apartment is located in a modernist building in the Higienópolis neighborhood, in São Paulo –Brazil. It has high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, typical of the buildings in thisarea, which guarantees good lighting and natural ventilation.
The apartment's living room is quite large and has a generous balcony. In the project, we sought to enhance these qualities of the space and maintain the feeling of a spacious and generous environment, so we took great care in arranging the layout and carpentry so it wouldn´t have any obstructions in the space.
The only visual interruption we proposed was the placement of sun shades between the bathroom and the dining table, creating an entrance hall and also a shade that provides more privacy for the dining table.
To illuminate the room, we designed large shelves that highlight the length of the space and feature built-in lighting facing upwards, which creates a pleasant indirect light, as well as direct lighting points focused on the main points, such as the dining table, sideboard and the paintings.
