White Arkitekter will contribute to the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale, presenting two projects in the Global Art Affairs Foundation curated exhibition Time Space Existence, hosted in Palazzo Bembo and Palazzo Mora as an official part of the Biennale programme. The exhibition comprises concepts, visions and models of the work of over 100 architects across six continents, displayed in a thematic presentation about the social and environmental impact that architecture has on our lives.
White Arkitekter, Scandinavia’s leading architectural practice and a pioneer in sustainable architecture, will present two current masterplans which are strongly driven by fragility and resilience: Small Means and Great Ends, White Arkitekter’s international competition winning scheme for rebuilding the Far Rockaways in Queens NYC; and their vision for the new Kiruna, Sweden’s northern most city which is being forced to relocate due to land deformation caused by iron ore mining.
